Little Peak

Dear Families,

My name is Maddy and I am the Founder and Head teacher at Little Peak Daycare. For the past 15 years, and especially over the last eight years, I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to help develop the minds, bodies and spirits of young children. Exploring with our youngest learners has always been my passion and after teaching at Sterling and Collingwood, two of the leading independent schools in Toronto and Vancouver respectively, I am thrilled to create a child care space in Squamish that will foster the development of the whole child, where the children will feel excited to learn about themselves, others and the world around them.

Our childcare philosophy begins by building a trusting relationship with each child. We have seen first-hand how a powerful relationship and trusting environment can encourage children to become adventurous thinkers and advocates for their own learning.

We believe that through the active learning, play-based approach, children develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual selves in a safe and caring child-centered environment. We enjoy utilizing new ideas and approaches to improve the learning environment in our community. Through the natural curiosity of the children, we continuously incorporate a variety of hands-on and authentic learning projects to inspire and motivate the children. We believe that there is a time and a place for whole class circles, purposeful play, free exploration and outdoor learning.  

 It is our goal to create a space that ensures the children continue to grow in the most positive way.
